Seat Sharing To Be Top Agenda In INDIA Bloc's Next Meet: Report

Working on seat sharing agreements will be on the top of the agenda at the upcoming meeting of the INDIA bloc, likely to be held between December 17 and 20, sources have said.

New Delhi: The upcoming INDIA bloc meeting, likely scheduled between December 17 and 20, will prioritize discussions on seat-sharing agreements, according to sources familiar with the matter. Although the exact date is yet to be confirmed, the meeting is expected to take place in the third week of December.

Numerous members of the INDIA bloc have been urging a swift decision on seat sharing in various states. This urgency stems from the need to provide candidates with ample time for campaigning and understanding the ground situation.

A recent floor leaders' meeting of INDIA parties occurred on Wednesday at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, focusing on parliamentary strategy for both Houses. The issue of seat sharing was also raised during a meeting of opposition leaders on Monday, particularly emphasized by Trinamool Congress leaders.

The last INDIA bloc meeting took place on August 31 and September 1. Additionally, a Coordination Committee meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) convened in New Delhi on September 13.
